Envision Education: Christmas Bazaar Fundraising

Envision Education, a nonprofit organization that works to bridge the digital divide for students in remote areas, got creative with their fundraising at this year's Concordia International School Christmas Bazaar. As many know, Envision's mission is to set up computer labs and provide technology resources to underserved schools. Their goal for 2024 is an initiative called "Nepal2024" which will bring their work to rural schools in Nepal. To help fund this project, Envision decided to utilize a new skill - laser cutting.

Envision students learned how to use the school's laser cutters to design and cut unique Christmas ornaments. They created laser-cut designs of trees, stars, snowflakes and more. Visitors to the bazaar were then able to custom order ornaments with their names or initials added.

In one day, Envision was able to complete over 100 custom laser-cut ornament orders. With prices ranging from $5-10 per ornament depending on complexity, Envision's laser-cutting booth was a hit.

In total, through their creative fundraising idea, Envision was able to raise more than USD $1000 towards their Nepal2024 initiative through sales at the Christmas bazaar.

It was inspiring to see how Envision took advantage of new skills and available resources to creatively raise money for their important work expanding digital access internationally. Their laser-cutting booth was one of the most popular at the bazaar and shows how nonprofit organizations can think outside the box for fundraising success.
